Objective

To mark Éclat’s foray into television content production by executing a high-impact, end-to-end project that showcases the agency’s creative and technical capabilities in a new medium. The goal was to transition from creating branded content and experiences to successfully managing a full-scale televised event, laying the foundation for future television ventures.

Concept

Television has always been a creative dream for many, and Éclat has spent years honing the skills needed to bring that dream to life. When the opportunity to produce SpellBee—India’s largest spelling competition for children—came through a partnership with Mirchi, Éclat saw it as the perfect project to debut in the television space. The challenge was to create an engaging, high-energy televised competition that appealed to a young audience and could be aired on platforms like Jio and Nickelodeon.

Execution

The project, held in Kolkata, was a complete turnkey production managed entirely by Éclat within a tight deadline. From ideating the show format to location scouting, venue coordination, set design and fabrication, Éclat led every step of the process. The agency was also responsible for:

  • Scripting and Creative Direction: Tailoring a child-friendly yet engaging narrative structure for the competition.
  • Content Creation: Designing bespoke visual content for set screens that added to the excitement of every segment.
  • Production & Technicals: A 13-camera multi-cam setup was used to capture the energy, tension, and emotion live—without the luxury of retakes.
  • Talent and Crowd Management: Working with 52 children demanded empathy, patience, and a different approach from typical productions. The team skillfully adapted by blending professionalism with parental instincts.
  • Post-production: From editing to final broadcast-ready delivery, Éclat oversaw the entire post-production pipeline.

Results

  • Successfully aired on Jio and Nickelodeon, establishing Éclat as a capable television production house.
